TRUMAN PRESIDENTIAL LIBRARY & MUSEUM

The Truman Presidential Library and Museum, one of fifteen managed by the National Archives, occupies 14 acres in Harry S. Truman’s hometown of Independence, Missouri. Over the past five years, this world-class institution has undergone significant renovations to its buildings and updates to its exhibitions, culminating in a modernized campus landscape. The reimagined campus will extend visitor education beyond the museum's walls. The design envisions a "Walk with Harry" trail featuring programmed spaces allowing visitors to enjoy Truman's favorite outdoor activity. The team collaborated with the Truman Institute, the Library, and community leaders throughout the design process to create opportunities for connection to narratives about Harry’s life, native Missourian prairies, and the region’s role in westward expansion.
