OREGON SHAKESPEARE FESTIVAL COURTYARD

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival (OSF) attracts over 400,000 visitors annually who attend award-winning plays and productions. The Bricks courtyard is the first impression for guests travelling to Ashland as they enjoy outdoor “Green Show” performances, collect tickets, and interact with other patrons and performers. The redesign, sparked by accessibility issues, provides universal accessibility with areas for wheelchairs to seamlessly integrate with performance seating. Ashland’s logging origins served as design inspiration for the new plaza with log seating columns that collide and cascade to frame the sloped landscape. When not hosting performances, the Bricks functions as an urban park.
