316CityCenter is a strategy and vision for Wichita’s future, one that unites the city with it’s historic core and relation to the river. The masterplan developed by MCLV intensifies the existing attractions by realizing the full potential of the city through urban development and design. This plan creates a new sequence of signature urban parks and an identity to Wichita’s Downtown. The approach incorporates three phases which begins with a Phase One pilot project of redeveloping the existing Naftzger Park and establishing a much needed urban design precedent for Downtown Wichita. With the integration of a 21st century building, park, and public-private partnership, Naftzger Plaza becomes the catalyst to recreate Wichita’s downtown core and sense of place.
